The Opportunity | Te Kōwhiringa

Join the Downer, Transport & Infrastructure business alongside an experienced Road Maintenance team based from our Wainui, Auckland depot.

Our team is responsible for performing road pavement maintenance and sign installation works across the Auckland region. This includes, but is not limited to unsealed road maintenance, network inspections, road signage installations and repairs, and many other road maintenance activities.

You will take pride in helping to enhance the safety and function of road signage and the general appeal of public spaces. Your day-to-day tasks will include installing, fixing and cleaning signs plus supporting with general road maintenance activities and machine operation through the region.

Important Skills | Nga Pūkenga Matu

To be successful within this role we are looking for someone with basic knowledge of civil construction (such as concrete pours, replacing guardrails, signs and fixing potholes). Experience installing and maintaining signs on a roading network is preferable but we are able to offer training for the right person.

  • Full Class 1 License (Class 2 preferable)
  • Traffic Management Warrant beneficial
  • Experience operating mobile plant machinery and equipment, particularly within the road maintenance and asphalt industry (advantageous)
