The Business Lending domain within BNZ Customer, Products and Services (CP&S) is an exciting and driven work environment where you'll get to maintain and develop market leading products, services and customer propositions.

You’ll also get to be heavily involved in substantial transformation initiatives to replace legacy lending systems and product platforms, which will provide a critical foundation for BNZ to continue to grow and innovate as New Zealand’s largest business bank.

What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?

About the role:

  • Build and lead a high-performing team of Product Managers. Foster a culture of collaboration, customer-centricity, growth and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the business term loan product suite is performing well from a customer experience, risk, regulatory, and financial perspective.
  • Apply leading product management, design, and leadership skills to assist in the overall development and execution of BNZ strategy as it relates to business term loan and asset finance products, automation and processes.
  • Manage resources to ensure product initiatives, change programmes and transformation projects are delivered on-time, to a high-standard, ensuring great customer and colleague outcomes.
  • Deliver key technology re-platforming initiatives on-time and at a standard where products perform as expected, and can be fulfilled and maintained digitally in a manner that is compliant by design.


What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?

We're looking for an outstanding Product Portfolio Manager with broad financial services experience and a passion for delivering the best customer experience. You'll bring subject matter expertise in business lending product management, preferably with specific experience with term lending products, and have thorough knowledge of the NZ regulatory requirements for the product set you lead.

You'll have demonstrated commercial acumen with a focus on results and a natural ability to communicate effectively, including proven influencing and negotiation skills across all levels. Strong experience in people leadership, coaching and motivating cross-functional teams will be an advantage.
