Ngā Kōrero mo tēnei tūranga / About the role
The Senior Reporting Analyst will play a key role in driving digital enablement and upskilling of the Finance team and wider firm in data reporting, analysis and digital tools. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong understanding of data analysis, Business Intelligence (BI) tools (specifically Power BI and Alteryx), and a passion for building team capabilities in digital reporting.

  • Digital Upskilling: Lead initiatives to enhance the Finance team’s reporting capabilities and digital awareness by conducting training sessions and knowledge-sharing workshops on digital reporting tools and best practices. Advocate for the adoption of digital tools across the Finance team to improve reporting efficiency and data accessibility.
  • Existing Reporting: Maintain, enhance and troubleshoot existing Power BI dashboards and reports, ensuring they meet business requirements and deliver actionable insights.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Design, develop and automate reporting processes to ensure timely, accurate and relevant data is delivered to the stakeholders.
  • Reporting Optimisation: Continuously monitor and optimise existing reports to improve data clarity and ease of use.
  • Process & Reporting Automation: Identify opportunities for process improvements and reporting automation. Develop and implement automated reporting solutions to reduce manual tasks and increase reporting efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside NZIT/ Systems Accountant to leverage digital skillset.


Ngā pūkenga kei a koe / Skills and experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience as a Reporting Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, or similar role, preferably in a Finance and Operations environment.
  • Strong expertise in Power BI for report building, data visualisation and dashboard development. Ability to work with large datasets and complex reporting requirements. Intermediate level of expertise in DAX.
  • Hands-on experience with Alteryx building data workflows.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, M365 with a keen ability to handle complex datasets and reporting structures.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex reporting and BI concepts to non-technical team members and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
  • Ability to work in an agile, digital environment.
