The Company
Our client is a global giant in the FMCG sector with their products loved by millions worldwide. THey were founded over 100 years ago with enjoy 10s of billions in sales each year. They have 2 plants in New Zealand and their Auckland plant is a modern, fully automated plant located in South Auckland.

The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be performing preventative and breakdown maintenance for their highly automated equipment. This is a hands-on role where you will be performing diagnostics and repairs on pneumatics, conveyors, pumps, etc. efficiently to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum. This is a highly hygienic environment - previous experience working in FMCG is preferred. You will be working closely with the operators to achieve ideal engineering outcome.

Ideally, we are seeking someone from a hands-on mechanical trade background with varied experience in general engineering and some basic electrical skills. A large part of this role will be working closely alongside with production operators. They are actively running a program to upskill the current operators, and you will be play a vital part of this program.

This is a 2-2-3 rotating shift between days and nights.

In summary, the requirements are,

  • A relevant mechanical trade qualification
  • Electrical skills, an EAS or EST is highly preferred
  • Experience working in FMCG with automated equipment
  • Hands-on production maintenance experience
  • The ability to mentor and coach operators and work as a team
  • A continuous improvement mindset
