Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Integration with a passion for solving integration challenges. The Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, supporting, and maintaining integration solutions. While we use a primarily IBM integration stack, we welcome transferrable skills from other integration platforms.    

Ko tō mahi | What you’ll do
As an Integration Engineer you will be part of a team using IBM integration products (App Connect Enterprise, API Connect, DataPower, MQ) to build and support enterprise integration solutions. For this role you will be responsible for proactively ensuring the integrity, availability, observability, security and performance of existing and new integration systems.

Design and develop integration solutions

Collaborate with development teams to ensure the successful delivery of enterprise solutions using integration

Identify and troubleshoot runtime issues in a timely manner to minimise the impact on consumers

Create and maintain integration documentation and technical specifications for stakeholders and peers

Create and conduct suitable tests to ensure that solutions function as expected

Ensure observability of integration solutions and provide insights for troubleshooting and optimization

Stay up-to-date with the latest integration technologies and techniques, as well as containerization and container orchestration platforms.

Actively collaborate within our integration community, driving improvements to practices and contributing to governance

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
Proficient in development using any or all of IBM APP Connect Enterprise (ACE), IBM DataPower Gateway, IBM API Connect.

Experience with IBM message manipulation languages, notably ESQL and Gateway Script.

Proficient in industry standard message formats and transports such XML, JSON, REST, SOAP, HTTPS, and message queues.

Experience developing solutions in a highly regulated environment with strict compliance obligations.

Knowledge and experience of integration strategies and techniques using integration platforms.

Understanding of API and service testing techniques.

Understanding of security patterns for integration services and APIs.

A working knowledge of containers and Kubernetes or OpenShift.

Ability to analyse and describe solutions and systems.

A passion for learning, improving skills and sharing knowledge.
