Job Description

We are delighted to be partnering with New Zealand’s largest Public Health Care organisation located right in the heart of the Auckland. The business is now searching for a Payroll Analyst to join a dedicated and diverse team based in Penrose on a 12-month fixed term contract.

About the role:

The main purpose of the role is to ensure that the organisations payroll policy and systems and aligned and compliant with the Holiday Act 2003. You will support the team with payroll analysis and interpretation to provide insights, create project plans, and remediate current and terminated employees.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing detailed project plans.
  • Analyse payroll data to support compliance solutions.
  • Interpret payroll and personnel data to resolve queries.
  • Review and interpret MECAs and IEAs.
  • Configure and test a new compliant payroll system.
  • Support data conversion for system migration (e.g., annual leave hours to weeks).
  • Document process changes and compliance-related decisions.
  • Develop Holidays Act compliance measures for business-as-usual transition.


About you:

  • Proven experience handling large payroll functions.
  • An understanding of the NZ payroll legislation and Holidays Act 2003.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to navigate complex systems effectively.
  • A solution-focused mindset and a “can-do” attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
