About the role:

At BestStart, we are recruiting Reliever Teachers to join our Reliever Team. Our Reliever Team plays an integral role in the operation of our centres nationwide. As a Teacher for us, you will have the opportunity to work with our Tamariki and make a difference to their learning and development.

As a Reliever Teacher, you will be working alongside the permanent staff and be involved in the day-to-day activities of the class. Looking for guidance of where you may be needed but also using your initiative to see opportunities to be helpful and a part of the team. No day will be the same, as our BestStart Relievers can work across any of our centres, offering a variety of work daily.

What does the Kapiti Coast offer?

Just 45 minutes North of Wellington, you will discover the coastal luxury of the Kapiti Coast. Kapiti is a fantastic part of the country, that offers beautiful coastline, outdoor pursuits, and plenty of peaceful spots for rest and relaxation.BestStart has four centres located in the Kapiti Coast region. Our Kapiti community are a close-knit bunch, and welcome interest for reliever caregivers to be part of their centres.

To be considered to work as a Teacher, you must have the below:

  • NZ qualification in ECE or Primary (BEd/Grad Dip) Level 7 minimum
  • NZ Registration – current (Provisional or Full) with NZ Teaching Council
  • NZQA endorsement completed for overseas quals – must be endorsed at Level 7 or higher, and be endorsed to work at NZ ECE level.
  • Applicants MUST have eligibility to work in New Zealand.
