About the role:

At BestStart, we are recruiting Reliever Teachers to join our Reliever Team. Our Reliever Team plays an integral role in the operation of our centres nationwide. As a Teacher for us, you will have the opportunity to work with our Tamariki and make a difference to their learning and development.

As a Reliever Teacher, you will be working alongside the permanent staff and be involved in the day-to-day activities of the class. Looking for guidance of where you may be needed but also using your initiative to see opportunities to be helpful and a part of the team. No day will be the same, as our BestStart Relievers can work across any of our centres, offering a variety of work daily.

The Capital City of New Zealand - Wellington! The first stop when visiting from the South Island, Wellington offers so much as a city! It is where you will find The Beehive (NZ Parliament), Te Papa Museum, stunning gardens and amazing hospitality! BestStart has a number of centres throughout Wellington and all are accessible by the public transport system, or a short driving distance apart.

To be considered to work as a Teacher, you must have the below:

  • NZ qualification in ECE or Primary (BEd/Grad Dip) Level 7 minimum
  • NZ Registration – current (Provisional or Full) with NZ Teaching Council
  • NZQA endorsement completed for overseas quals – must be endorsed at Level 7 or higher, and be endorsed to work at NZ ECE level.
  • Applicants MUST have eligibility to work in New Zealand.
