  • You must be able to work a full range range of differing shifts (includes mornings, afternoons, wakeover night shifts, sleepovers and some weekend shifts)

The role of a Support Worker involves providing assistance to individuals in developing their independence and acquiring skills for daily living. This includes tasks like helping them with public transportation, employment, finances, and meal preparation. Depending on the specific work environment, Support Workers may also assist with individual needs such as shopping, cleaning, showering, and medication administration.

Some experience in the caregiving or health sector is essential for this particular vacancy. This could include caregiving in a private or familial capacity.

The clients you will be helping to care for have a variety of health situations that require physical support around personal cares - using hoists, etc - in addition to their need for assistance to manage their intellectual disability challenges.

To be consider it is essential that you:

  • Are available to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleepover shifts.
  • Are comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily.
  • Have strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • A level of physical fitness sufficient to enable you to provide physical support to others.
  • PLEASE NOTE: it is essential that you have a full NZ drivers licence .
