Our client, a top-tier firm is seeking an Associate level solicitor to join their Environment and Planning Team. Suitable candidates will join a high-performing team with an excellent reputation and a steady pipeline of diverse work including urban development and infrastructure projects, strategic policy development and planning, and RMA/local government litigation. The Auckland team collaborates with the other national offices situated in Christchurch and Wellington and triumphs a positive, flexible and mature workplace culture.
What you'll do:
The role will be diverse and engaging. You will be involved in high-profile urban development and infrastructure projects, contributing to the future landscape of our cities. Your expertise will also be called upon for housing developments and freshwater management initiatives, where your knowledge of resource management, environmental law, public law or local government law will be invaluable. In addition to these responsibilities, you'll engage in strategic policy development and planning, shaping the legal framework within which our society operates. Your role will also involve handling RMA/local government litigation cases, providing a challenging yet rewarding aspect to your work.
What you bring:
4+ years PQE with experience in resource management, environmental law, public law and/or local government law
Experience working with developers, corporates, local authorities and public bodies
Ability to handle high profile urban development and infrastructure projects
Knowledge of housing developments and freshwater management initiatives
Experience in strategic policy development and planning
Experience in RMA/local government litigation
