He angitūtanga / The opportunity:

We are currently looking for a skilled Permanent Full Time Sous Chef to join our team at Te Aute Boys' College in Hawkes Bay, Napier. We operate Monday through to Sunday, therefore weekend work maybe involved and flexibility is required for this position.

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:

You must enjoy working in a busy environment while leading your kitchen team to deliver high quality food. Managing client and budget expectations is key. You will be working closely alongside our site manager to develop and deliver a consistent and collaborative operation.

He kōrero mōu / About you:

If you're our ideal candidate;

  • You will be hard working, have a passion for great food and a friendly outgoing personality.
  • You will already have at least 5 years' proven work experience in a similar chef position with relevant leadership experience.
  • You will hold food safety certificates (Unit Standard 167 and 168).
  • You will have experience and skill in modern cuisine and producing and presenting food to a high standard and will put strong emphasis on quality, presentation while being a great communicator.
  • You will competently juggle multiple demands within a challenging environment.
  • You will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.
