About the role
Discover our mussel processing division in the vibrant Marlborough Sounds, where our facility operates two shifts daily for 11 months annually. Equipped with automated half shell processing technology, we process between 14,000 and 18,500 metric tons of mussels yearly, for export as frozen half shell products.
These roles are located in Havelock, Monday - Friday (optional Saturday's) 45 hours per week.
Mussel Grading
This role is critically important to ensure only high-quality product is supplied to the various processing teams. You will be responsible for identifying and removing defective product and grading product according to specifications in the AMO, Chiller and Pre-Spiral.
Mussel Packing
Package the final mussel product appropriately that meets the required quality and company standards for distribution and sale. This step involves constructing the mussel packaging and ensuring the materials are clean and suitable for maintaining the quality of the mussels. Then carefully places the finished products into the packaging and closing.
Mussel Opening
To open whole mussels as presented by either flipping off one shell or removing one shell with a knife to create high grade half shell product.
Machine Operators
To operate the machines in the various areas of operation. These machines include AMOs, Forklifts, Trucks, Bagging Machines, Pressure Cooker, Cabin Plant and Meat Line Blancher
Logistics Operators
To receive, stack, store and distribute product and packaging material (for this role you will require an up-to-date Forklift License + OSH Certificate)
