Job Description

Are you an experienced leader with a passion for growing and developing teachers? Ready to embark on a journey where you will forge strong community ties and empower our littlest learners?

We are on the lookout for a passionate centre manager to lead and guide our amazing team of kaiako here at Busy Bees Cambridge!

About us:

Our centre revolves around child-led, learning through play and exploration. Our children’s ideas spring from their imaginations, not from screens. Our big open play space allows our tamariki to engage in authentic, exciting interactions with the ‘real world’ and its elements. We believe that animals have much to teach children and offer children a wide variety of animals to interact with, including ponies, ducks, birds, turtles, chickens, and even a lizard called Sly! As well as working closely with animals, their feeding and care, we also focus on horticulture and spend time gardening, and growing plants and flowers.

About you:

As our Centre Manager, you will have access to an excellent support network within the Busy Bees whānau, along with a Regional Manager who is committed to coaching and developing your success. We value Professional Development for all our teachers and are committed to upskilling and growing your professional development.

As a passionate and experienced leader, you will wear many hats to allow you to manage in an ever-evolving environment and be adaptable to meet a variety of needs. You will have a strong “on the floor” presence, providing mentoring and role modelling of exceptional teaching practice to the team. As well as being responsible for creating solid community relationships, compliance management, mentoring and driving exceptional standards of teaching, you will be an integral part of making decisions which will drive the future focus for the centre, both in terms of environment and education.

Role Requirements:

  • An inspirational leader with an innate ability to develop and lead a team to deliver best practice childcare services
  • B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current teacher registration/certification
  • Demonstrated leadership experience you will love to coach, mentor and inspire!
  • Initiative, desire and passion for quality practice standards and commitment to the principles of Te Whāriki
  • Familiarity with the New Zealand Education Council, ERO, MOE requirements, Licensing Criteria, 2008 Regulations and Code of Ethics
  • A comprehensive understanding of how to maintain and grow occupancy levels
  • Innovative, resilient, committed, passionate and enthusiastic!

Why work for us?

  • We offer Full Pay Parity
  • Full payment of Teacher Registration costs and paid First Aid
  • Free flu vaccinations
  • Discounted Childcare Fees
  • Leadership development course to grow new leaders
  • A companywide commitment to employee wellbeing with access to an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Time out of ratio to enable you to coach and mentor your team
  • You will have the opportunity to be a part of an innovative service and grow professionally with plenty of ongoing professional development and mentoring!

If you are an inspirational leader with a passion for childcare, we want to hear from you! Apply now with your CV and Cover Letter and be part of our journey to deliver the best possible childcare services to our community.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
