Ko tō tūranga – your role
As a Network & Security Engineer with One New Zealand you will provide first class technical expertise to our biggest and most complex customers across Enterprise & Government.



Not only will this involve ensuring maximum availability, performance, and stability to a variety of customers, but your outstanding knowledge and skill set will play a vital role in maintaining service to these customers so they can stay connected 24x7.



Here at One New Zealand we are a vendor agnostic service provider, this means providing network solutions that involve Cisco, Fortinet, Meraki, Aruba, and Arista products. These solutions start from a basic routing and switching environments, up to the latest SD-WAN/SD-Access offerings on the market today.



Please note this role will require you to be on a rotating on-call roster, on average requiring you to be on-call one week out of every two months.

Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do

  • Configuring and maintaining firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless controllers.
  • Monitoring security events, identifying potential threats or vulnerabilities, and responding promptly to incidents.
  • Monitoring network health, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, and implementing appropriate remedial actions.
  • Participating in 24x7 callout roster as required on a regular basis.
  • Help our customers by driving service improvements with your technical understanding of their networks and services.
  • Prepare and deploy operational changes to customers networks following industry best standards.


Na tōu rourou - what you’ll bring

  • You have strong communication skills and enjoy being a partner to your customers.
  • Proven experience maintaining and operating in a network environments
  • Ideally familiarity with Cisco, Fortinet, Checkpoint, Zscaler, Arista, Meraki, Cloud based services AWS/Azure
  • Have or pursuing networking certifications such as CCNA/CCNP/CISSP/Security



You will also have a background in one of the following domains:

  • Networking – Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Wireless
  • Security – Auditing, Certificates, Compliance
  • Participating in projects
  • Request fulfilment and troubleshooting


Due to clearance requirements, you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residents or Citizenship to be considered for this role.
