He angitūtanga / The opportunity:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Permanent Full-time Retail Assistant to work at our Waiouru Millitary Camp.

The retail assistant must deliver a quality retail experience to our customers, residents or clients.

Waiouru is is located on the south-eastern North Island Volcanic Plateau, 130 km north of Palmerston North and 25 km south-east of Mount Ruapehu, 30 minutes from Taupo and similar distance from Ohakune (takes you longer to get to work in Auckland!). World renowned Tongariro National Park and Whanganui National Park set the backdrop for truly unique New Zealand experiences. The community is proactive and offer plenty of events you can chose to be a part of.

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:

  • Deliver professional customer service
  • Assist with presenting food
  • Maintain clean & tidy front/back of house
  • Prepare and serve barista coffee
  • Operate a cash register


He kōrero mōu / About you:

  • Experience in the provision of superior customer service
  • Experience in providing barista, coffee bar service
  • Experience in cash handling and reconciliation
  • Team player and able to work autonomously
  • A food safety certificate (Unit Standard 167) or be happy to train for one
