Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Account Director with a focus on Public Relations. This role is an exciting opportunity to deliver excellent public relations programmes and outstanding client service across designated accounts. The successful candidate will be responsible for the quality of work, output, and results of client communications programmes. This role offers the chance to develop and maintain close relationships with senior clients, resulting in a business partnership approach.

What you'll do:

As an Account Director, your role will be pivotal in delivering excellent public relations solutions and outstanding client service. You will take charge of individual client projects, ensuring they are delivered to service level agreements, meet project specifications, time frames, and budget. Your ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with senior clients will be key to your success. You will also have the opportunity to grow client revenue through increasing retainers or selling new projects. Your role will also involve overseeing the work flow for the client team, ensuring that each team member has the support they need.

  • Develop and maintain a close rapport with senior clients.
  • Run or assist in running the client account based on understanding of both company and client businesses.
  • Offer strategic recommendations to the client on their account.
  • Take ownership of individual client projects.
  • Manage day-to-day work progress.
  • Grow client revenue through increasing retainer or selling new projects.
  • Maximise account margins, revenue, and sales against business objectives and financial targets.
  • Oversee the work flow for the client team.


What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Account Director role will bring a wealth of industry experience, preferably from a PR consultancy or in-house communications background. With at least 4 year's experience in a client service role within communications or PR, you'll have developed core PR technical skills including writing for different areas of the media and creating plans and recommendations. Your ability to produce effective client PR strategies will set you apart. Excellent communication skills are essential for this role, as is some experience in presenting at a senior level.

  • Graduate preferably or relevant industry experience (PR consultancy; in-house communications; journalism).
  • A minimum of 4 year's client service background – communications or PR.
  • Core PR technical skills including writing for different areas of the media, plans and recommendations.
  • Ability to produce client PR strategy.
  • Well-developed communication skills – both oral and written.
  • Some experience in presenting at a senior level.
