Job Description

Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role

Fisheries New Zealand works to ensure that fisheries resources are managed to provide the greatest overall benefit to New Zealanders. Our focus is the sustainability of New Zealand's wild fish stocks, aquaculture, and the wider aquatic environment, now and for future generations.

We have an opportunity within our Governance and Performance team for someone to help our organisation continuously improve its performance.

The purpose of this Senior Performance Analyst role is to deliver specific pieces of work, provide strong business and financial analysis and reporting, and provide insights and advice on aspects of branch performance. You will also support the team's Governance activities. This work spans both business as usual and specific project based activity. You'll be involved in pulling together information by analysing data, speaking with a variety of subject matter experts across Fisheries New Zealand, and working with Fisheries New Zealand Leadership Team. You'll use this information to support and improve aspects of Fisheries New Zealand's operations, including reporting and insights, our statutory reporting obligations, business planning processes, and annual budget preparation. As such, this role requires significant internal stakeholder engagement.

You'll also be tasked with understanding and improving visibility of our risk reporting methodology. You'll help think about ways of working which have not been considered before with a view to improving the way we work, and how we deliver value to our stakeholders.
