He angitūtanga / The opportunity:
We are currently seeking for enthusiastic Catering Assistants to join our team at Victoria University of Wellington. The ideal candidates will have a flexible attitude and be prepared to work shift work as sites operate 7 days per week. This is a Casual Position where the working hours are "as and when required". The successful candidate must have the flexibility to work during weekends.
Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:
- Basic meal preparation - Cooking/Baking/Grilling
- Re-stock and replenishing supplies
- Providing a warm, friendly, welcoming and professional style of service to our residents
- General cleaning of kitchen/front of house areas
He kōrero mōu / About you:
- Be a team player but also able to work autonomously
- Demonstrate previous experience in a similar role
- Have a flexible approach and attitude
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills
- Be hard working
- Be physically fit and reliable
- Ideally hold NZQA Food Handling certificates Units 167 & 168
- Have a safety focus and an awareness of health and safety practices and protocols
