About the role
We have four career defining opportunities at Auckland Airport (AKL) – Airfield Officer and Airfield Safety Officer.
As an Airfield Officer you will be working in the Apron Operations Tower and will maintain a presence on the airfield. Coordinate with Air Traffic Control and facilitate the safe and effective movement of aircraft to and from the International Apron. Continuous liaison required with customers, airlines & handling agents and ensure airline services meet on time performance criteria to ensure an appropriate gate allocation plan for arriving and departing aircraft to meet specifications, gate restrictions and the best utilisation of all stands.
This is a full-time opportunity that is based on 4 days on and 4 days off roster pattern. You will be required to work 12-hour shifts.
As an Airfield Safety Officer, you will contribute to works planning and preparation, including establishing work site limitations, ensure that aircraft safety/movement is not compromised by any works airside, and ensure the necessary permits and paperwork have been completed. Coordinate and liaise with Airfield Operations, Air Traffic Control and Contractors regarding work areas and any restrictions, whilst monitoring and promoting aviation safety and compliance across the airfield.
We have full-time position(s) with minimum 40 hours per week. The rostered hours are 24/7 shift based and contractor-based hours and can be different day to day and may require working on weekends).
