Right now, we have a full time opportunity for an outstanding Environmental Investigations Officer to join our Environmental Health Team.
The purpose of this role is to promote and safeguard environmental health in the community by facilitating and influencing proactive compliance, leading, educating and working with the public and industry locally, regionally and nationally to maintain compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
Investigating complaints and following up on Request's For Service relating to the dumping of refuse and depositing of litter in the City
Preparing evidence for infringement fines and prosecutions in the District Court
Enforcing bylaws - prevention of nuisance from fires and smoke, control of animals, public places, Refuse Collection and Disposal
Advise and submit on policy and submissions
Undertaking environmental education to community groups
Enquiring and reporting on applications under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and presenting evidence in committee or Authority hearings
