Job Description

Hours of work: Full time, approx. 30 hours per week, across a rotating roster (including weekends and public holidays).

Must be able to work across all shifts (mornings, afternoon, evenings), and have experience with all care levels (rest home, hospital, dementia)

Pay Rate: $26.94 - $29.10 per hour - subject to completed caregiving qualification

About the Role

Provide exceptional care to our residents under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families. Work closely with a team to implement our individual care plans. Full training provided.

Duties include:

  • Undertaking personal cares, while encouraging residents to make decisions that promote independence
  • Promptly completing delegated tasks in a timely manner
  • Responding quickly to resident requests, providing them with useful, relevant information
  • Maintaining and updating resident healthcare records
  • Assisting with handover of residents at shift changes

Skills and Experience

  • New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 3 (or equivalent) and 3 years of relevant experience; OR New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 (or equivalent).
  • People skills with empathy for the elderly and their families
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility to work on a rostered shift basis
