At Downer, we believe in building the best teams to deliver outstanding service to our customers and communities. We are currently seeking an experienced Public Toilet Amenities & Cleaning Team Leader to lead our dedicated Tauriko teams in maintaining and delivering high-quality amenities services on Downer contracted sites.

Please be aware this is a hands-on cleaning role as well as looking after your direct reports.

As an Amenities and Cleaning Team Leader, you will :

  • Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance of park facilities including toilets, BBQs, bins and park furniture to ensure a high standard of service
  • Perform litter collection and upkeep of public areas to enhance the community's enjoyment
  • Lead and coordinate teams in designated Amenities activities
  • Organize and monitor amenities operations, producing work plans and assigning resources. Adjust plans based on seasonal influences and ensure efficient deployment of work crews
  • Adhere to Safety, Quality, and Environmental (SQE) standards by managing activities for superior safety performance during daily operations
  • Undertake hazard identification and document findings prior to starting work on site
  • Be vigilant of the public in work areas and assess the appropriateness of activities to maintain public safety
  • Liaise with clients and the public to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns promptly

We are looking for candidates with who have a positive attitude and display a great willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks. As a Public Toilet Amenities & Cleaning Team Leader, you will also have:

  • Significant industry experience in amenities management (5+ years preferred).
  • Full Class 1 Driver’s License (Class 2 preferred).
  • Proven experience in leading and managing teams.
  • Strong planning, client liaison, and communication skills.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, and results-oriented professional.
