Job Description

At MercyAscot we run our own in-house casual nursing bureau and we're in need of experienced Healthcare Assistants, working on an as-required as‑available basis across our inpatient surgical units. As a member of our casual bureau, you'll find yourself working at either Ascot Hospital in Remuera, or at Mercy Hospital in Epsom. Shift lengths vary from 4hr, 6hr, 8hr or 12hr.

And you have:

  • At least 2 years recent experience as a Healthcare Assistant
  • Completed an HCA course to level 4
  • Great communication skills with a positive, enthusiastic attitude and a real team focus
  • Great customer service skills and a passion for providing excellent care
  • Availability of at least 2 casual shifts per week (including mornings, afternoons, nights and weekends).


About us:

We're part of the Healthcare Holdings Group of companies and we're New Zealand's largest private surgical facility with 22 theatres (and growing!) across 3 sites including an Intensive Care Unit and Coronary Care facilities. Our surgical specialties include: Orthopaedic/Spinal, Colorectal/Gastro, Gynae, Urology, Neurology, Oncology, Plastics (incl flaps), ENT/ORL, Head & Neck, and Cardiac/Vascular. Our patients are both adults and children.

Because this is a casual role, we cannot provide visa support - so you must already have NZ citizenship or residency.
