Job Description

We are working with Top Tier law firm in the CBD as they look to grow their commercial property team. The firm deals with New Zealand’s largest organisations and property developers. The team advise on commercial leasing, property development and major subdivisions, as well as acquisitions and disposals, hotel management arrangements and the agricultural and forestry sectors.

The firm promotes a collaborative culture and professional development, that is supported by continuous learning initiatives, mentorship, and access to diverse and challenging work for high calibre client base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate varying commercial real estate transactions, encompassing sales, purchases, leases and financing agreements;
  • Conduct due diligence investigations to identify potential legal issues or risks associated the transactions;
  • Draft and negotiate contracts, including sale and purchase agreements, lease agreements, and financing agreements;
  • Drafting of documentation relating to private client property transactions with a focus on estates and trusts;
  • Assisting clients with buying, selling, leasing, or transferring property, as well as handling property disputes or negotiations.


To be successful in the role you should have:

  • 4+ years PQE in property however all candidates will be considered on merit;
  • Admitted in New Zealand or a common law jurisdiction with knowledge of property and commercial law;
  • Take a client focussed approach providing effective legal advice that meets client needs;
  • Commercially astute and client focused; and
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
