The Role

This newly created advisory role is an opportunity for a practical problem-solver to take ownership of implementing and managing Health and Safety protocols at Ventia, ensuring a safe, supportive and compliant workplace. Reporting to the SHEQ Compliance Manager, you will also be working alongside our SHEQ Officer and Plant & Fleet Supervisor. You will be coaching, guiding, and assisting managers, staff and contractors to meet Health and Safety requirements.

About you

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a Health & Safety role
  • Superb attention to detail, solid organisational skills and a drive for continuous improvement and efficiency is a must
  • Strong knowledge of the NZ legislative environment including HSE, ACC And HSNO and industry guidelines and standards
  • Thorough knowledge of work-related illnesses and injuries, and rehabilitation processes
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive accident/incident investigations, recommend correct and preventative actions
  • A high level of communication skills with a coaching and influencing emphasis
  • A “can do” attitude, willing to get out in the field, quickly identifying and overcoming any Health & Safety challenges you may encounter
