Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated people leader to drive our Waikato SESTA Operation (Specialised School Transport Assistance). You will lead a team of casual and permanent Drivers who cover routes throughout Hamilton and Paeroa.

SESTA is a highly rewarding community service that we provide for the Ministry of Education, this service ensures the safe transport of over 300 students daily, from their front door to school, and home again.

Based at our office in Te Rapa, you will work collaboratively with our drivers, schools, parents, and the Ministry to deliver this service for our local communities.

The role:

  • Leading the Waikato SESTA operation
  • Managing and supporting your team of SESTA drivers
  • Planning, rostering, and implementing runs to ensure optimum use of resources
  • Administrative support and payroll duties
  • Driver recruitment
  • Regular performance monitoring of drivers & vehicles
  • Ensuring overall compliance; adherence to legal requirements and contractual agreements


What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience in a leadership role
  • The ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels
  • A drive for delivering a high level of customer service and safe specialised transport
  • Problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal & written communication ability
  • Tech savvy, and a willingness to adapt to new systems.
  • Full NZ Driver's License (A Passenger Endorsement is required but we can assist in obtaining this)
