Our Infrastructure Delivery team is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced ConstructionSupervisors to oversee high-impact projects in the Pacific. This unique opportunity provides exposure to a significant project within the aviation sector, located in the Soloman Islands.
Downer is working on two airstrip terminal structures – one new build with high-spec finish and a reconstruct and extension to an existing structure. Reporting to the Project Manager, the ConstructionSupervisor will manage sub-contractors, ensure Health & Safety protocols are followed and retain programme integrity.
The role is Fixed-Term with projects expected to start in May 2025 and forecast to end in March 2026. The successful candidate/s will need to be available to work a 6 week on, 6 days off FIFO roster with flights, onsite single accommodation and meals included.
About you:
Suitable candidates for this role will have:
Trade qualified in construction-related fields
Experience in supervising high-spec projects preferably within a contracting organisation
Essential to have multi-discipline building experience and ability to oversee construction from ground up to final completion.
Demonstrated ability to manage, coordinate and direct subcontractors and suppliers effectively
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Commitment to Health & Safety best practices and initiatives
Proven success in delivering high-quality, productive, and safe work while maintaining environmental integrity
Previous experience working in remote, tropical locations and managing local subcontractors is advantageous
