Job Description

The Company

  • The role is with a leading, forward-thinking consultancy based in Mount Maunganui that specialises in civil engineering, 3 waters, environmental engineering, land development, surveying and planning.
  • Due to the continued growth of their business they are looking for an Intermediate Civil Engineer but they would be open to an experienced Graduate also.
  • The company does a combination of local NZ projects and also international aid projects across the Cook Islands, Nepal and other countries. As part of your role you will design on a variety of projects across NZ and internationally, along with international travel trips to some amazing locations!


The Role

  • As a Civil Engineer, you’ll assist with a wide range of land development projects of varying scope and complexity. You’ll have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the project lifecycle, from design through to construction.
  • You will be a key member of their Civil and Environmental teams, assisting with the provision of high-quality engineering solutions,
  • They will assist you to gain a broad overall understanding of projects (the big picture) through experience working across projects from start to finish, i.e. design, consent, tendering, construction observation and administration to completion.


Projects typically include:

  • Roading and landform design of small to large residential and industrial projects on greenfield and brownfield sites
  • Water, wastewater and stormwater reticulation and treatment
  • Concept through detailed design, consenting, contract management, and construction observation.


About You

  • Mid level civil engineer – Ideally 2-5 years experience in land development works.
  • Ideally with a good mix of design and site based work.
  • Good attitude and someone who is willing to learn and grow.
  • A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering
  • Proficiency in civil engineering design software (Civil 3D, 12D or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant Codes of Practice, NZ Standards, technical publications and guidelines.
  • NZ work rights, or the ability to obtain them.
