Job Description

This is a 12-month contract position for an IT Tech Lead at a prominent technology company in New Zealand that develops software solutions for enterprise and mid-sized businesses. The company is known for its innovative business efficiency solutions and positive workplace culture. They also operate a well-known Managed Service Provider (MSP) division. The role involves leading a team of 20 professionals across development, security, infrastructure, data, and reporting functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all IT operations and aligning them with the company's business transformation goals.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Team leadership and professional development of IT staff
  • Strategic IT planning and infrastructure management
  • Budget oversight and vendor relationship management
  • Cybersecurity and risk management
  • Project leadership and implementation
  • Technical support and problem resolution
  • Cross-departmental collaboration and stakeholder communication


The ideal candidate should have:

  • At least 5-7+ years of senior IT management experience
  • Strong enterprise-level infrastructure and cloud technology expertise
  • Experience with network management, virtualization, and ITIL
  • Proficiency in security protocols and disaster recovery
  • Project management skills (Agile/Scrum)
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strategic thinking capabilities


This is an immediate start position requiring someone who can effectively manage technical operations while communicating complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
