Geneva Healthcare is New Zealand’s trusted experts in aged care, illness, injury & disability support. Through our Homecare department our Support Workers can support our client’s recovery in the comfort of their own home.

We are currently searching for a team of Support Workers to help care for our client located at Kai Iwi, Whanganui. Our client is an elderly client who suffers from stroke and requires 24/7 cares. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced support worker to progress their career further, as well as a rewarding role where you will not only make a difference in our client’s life but also their families. You will receive extensive theoretical and practical training for the competencies needed for this role.

If you are willing to travel and have previous experience with hoist and stroke care, then this is the job for you!

Typical duties:

  • Hoist competent – Static hoist
  • Stroke care
  • Safe manual handling
  • Personal care
  • Home help
  • Medication administration
  • Challenging behaviour
  • Able to drive mobility van with electric hoist.


We are looking to fill the following shifts:

Tuesday – 7.00am to 5.00pm
Saturday – 2pm to 9.30pm
Sunday – 8.00am to 3.00pm

Requirements:

  • Healthcare experience is essential
  • Level 3 or 4 Support Worker
  • Must have a clean and valid driver’s license & own transport
  • Must be eligible to work in NZ
  • Have a compatible smartphone – iOS 10+ or higher, or Android 5+ (Don’t have one? You can still apply – we have options available to secure a phone for you with weekly payment options)
  • Subject to clean police clearance check
