About the Role - Kōrero mō te Tūranga

Team Leader Fisheries Electronic Monitoring provides support to the Manager Electronic Monitoring, by leading a team of Electronic Monitoring Video Analysts.

As part of the Electronic Monitoring team, you will be part of the audit process of fishing industry practices and will assist with verification services for Fisheries New Zealand, Fisheries Compliance, and the Department of Conservation

As a Team Leader Fisheries Electronic Monitoring, you will be key in the success of the On-board Camera Programme by leading and managing the operational delivery of a team of video analysts to review On-board Cameras footage. You will train and mentor direct reports so they can provide a high-quality assurance service and to embed a continuous improvement culture within your team.

This role does require that you work in the MPI office, CBD, Wellington.

About You - Mōu

A successful candidate will:

  • Have experience in operationally managing staff including recruitment, development, workforce, and task management.
  • Deliverworkstreams on time, through others.
  • Work efficiently with minimal supervision, lead projects, and mentor team members.
  • Have experience in managing personally private and commercially sensitive information.
  • Prioritise workload based on customer needs and programme requirements. Having knowledge on New Zealand's fish and other aquatic species, and a strong understanding of the Fisheries Act, and other applicable regulations is desirable for this role.Build and maintaining successful relationships.
  • Have, a natural interest in continuous improvement, and the ability to follow procedures.
