Tradestaff have Welder/Fabricator jobs available across the Auckland region.

We are looking for Welder/Fabricator with background knowledge and experience with the following (but are not limited to):

  • Performing welding and fabrication on a variety of projects
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
  • Proficiently in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, ARC)
  • Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
  • Fabricating, shaping and bending custom metal components and pipes using hand and machine tools, plasma and laser cutters, and by heating and hammering
  • Fabricating structural steel and other metal stock to repair metal products and structures such as boilers and pressure vessels
  • Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
  • Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
  • Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting


Ideally, you will be or have:

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience
  • Related NZQA Level 4 Trade qualifications preferred however scope and length of experience and/or overseas qualifications may substitute for the formal NZ qualification
  • Your own tools
  • Own reliable transport
  • At least 2 work references
  • 100% commitment to Health & Safety
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test

Minimum pay range $28-$35 depending on experience
