Mō te tūnga | About the role

Police currently have a significant and ambitious minor and major capital works programme and require a Property Project Delivery Manager to support the planning and delivery of property projects across New Zealand. With hundreds of assets and properties to manage nationally, the work that the Property Projects Delivery team manage is critical to the continued delivery of Police operations and ensuring the safety of our communities.



This role will suit an individual who is looking to take their next steps in property project delivery. You will be tasked with a portfolio of small-medium sized projects and will use your project delivery experience to manage and deliver the requirements to a high standard. For this, you will require an understanding of the requirements for ‘end to end’ project delivery processes including planning, reporting and delivery of property-related projects.



You will be technologically savvy, have a positive and collaborative attitude, and a cool head when delivering projects on time and within budget. You will work closely with the wider property and operational teams, senior stakeholders and external organisations so exceptional communication, organisation and professionalism are essential.





Key Accountabilities:

  • Build and maintain lasting relationships with a range of stakeholders, both internal to Police and external partners.
  • Utilise excellent communication and organisation skills to plan and manage complex, large-scale capital works projects.
  • Provide accurate and precise reporting, including the management of risks and issues, to a range of stakeholders.
  • Provide knowledge and analysis using your understanding of effective project delivery strategies, practices and principles.

To be successful in this role you will require the following:

  • Previous experience delivering property-related projects within government is preferred.
  • Familiar with property investment proposals and business case development.
  • Experience with governance reporting and senior stakeholder engagement – able to influence decision making through accurate reporting and risk analysis.
  • Experience managing multiple small to medium sized projects while managing deadlines, issues and project scope.
  • Self-driven, resilient and adaptable to changing requirements when required.
  • Excellent communicator with an eye for detail – able to tailor information and reporting to different audiences, and provide efficient, knowledgeable customer service to our business.





Whakaritenga motuhake | Special requirements


  • This role is based in the Wellington area. Some travel may be required.
  • Prince 2 Qualification is desired but not essential.
  • For both Constabulary & Police Employees:
  • Agree to enrol in a leadership programme at the advertised level, at a future date or
  • Have qualified under CEP or a previous Career Progression Framework at the level you are applying for.

Utu ā-tau | Salary



This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $140,024 and $144,691 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
