Mō te tūranga | About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Analyst with hands-on experience in managing and working with a wide range of technologies within data centre environments. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge in physical hardware across network appliances, security, server hardware (Windows, Linux, AIX), NAS/SAN, third-party connections, and the associated patching and cabling infrastructure. You will play a pivotal role in understanding how these components fit together to support diverse workloads within an organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Methodically audit, catalogue, and document all assets within two data centres.
  • Categorise and classify assets based on provided information, ensuring clarity and accessibility for future reference.
  • Link all required hardware to a cabling matrix for both current and future states, understanding various cabling types, such as, UTP, SM, and MM fibre.
  • Collaborate with environment owners, data centre managers, and network architects to validate asset details and contribute necessary information for future state planning.
  • Work alongside the Project Manager to define scope of work and develop comprehensive migration plans.
  • Prepare and manage change documentation, including the creation of change records and presenting proposed changes to the Change Advisory Board (CAB)

  • Proven experience in data centre environments with technical understanding in network, security appliances, server hardware (Windows/Linux/AIX), NAS/SAN, and related technologies.
  • Strong understanding of network and SAN fabric patching, structured cabling, and the technical requirements of different cabling types (e.g., UTP, SM, MM fibre).
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with technical teams, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on asset management and data centre operations.
  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to audit and track assets methodically.
  • Experience with change management processes and the ability to present and document proposed changes clearly.
