Job Description

Dentons is part of the world’s largest global law firm, and a leading law firm in New Zealand with unparalleled access to legal expertise in over 80 countries. This means the opportunities are endless for our people!

The challenges our clients are navigating and the opportunities they are advancing are changing at an accelerating pace. We are a law firm that embraces change and helps our clients grow, protect, operate and finance their organisation. This why we offer clients more than legal insight, we help them find business solutions to achieve your goals.

We are looking for a dedicated and energetic Business Development Manager to join our team who wants to make a real difference in helping our clients navigate their challenges and leverage opportunities.

The team

Reporting to the Business Development & Marketing Director, this role will work alongside our Wellington based Business Development Managers and collaboratively lead the firm wide growth initiatives. We are in growth mode and have an ambitious client strategy. As such, there are opportunities to bring innovative solutions to this role, improve processes and work with the team to achieve our strategy and bring to life the firm’s overall aspirations.

Day to day, you will be

  • Leading tenders and capability statements, including advising on strategies and writing content.
  • Working alongside partners to drive the firm’s client growth and priority sector programme.
  • Coaching partners and senior lawyers on specific client and profiling opportunities.
  • Building the business development confidence and skillsets across teams.
  • Developing and implementing integrated growth strategies, projects and new initiatives.

About you

You will join us with a minimum of five years’ business development experience, ideally gained within a professional services environment. You will have sound communication skills, and the ability to build effective relationships and interact confidently with people at all levels within the firm and externally. You have a very strong client first and quality focus, with the ability to bring new ideas to the role and be on the lookout for new ways to achieve our growth ambitions. Passion and energy for what you do along with a desire to work in a fast paced environment is essential.

If this sounds like you, then we would love to hear from you.

In return, we will offer you the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and inclusive team that works in partnership with our clients, where you will get plenty of valuable experience. We are a future focussed firm and that ethos extends to our people too.
