Job Description
RENCO currently have a full-time position as a Laboratory Technician at our site in Eltham, Taranaki.
The Laboratory technician is responsible for analyses and tasks relating to the laboratory here at RENCO and will assist the factory to optimise the product quality and production efficiency by performing rapid and accurate analyses and providing results in a timely manner. They will also ensure accurate reporting and recording of all results and completion of other records as required.
The Laboratory Technician will report directly to the Plant Manager and will also have a close working relationship with the Production Manager, Compliance Manager and Process Operators.
The position will involve:
Using specialised instrumentation and Equipment
In process and final product testing
Recording tests and analyses and reporting results
Discussing and answering any questions regarding results
Receiving, labeling and safely storing samples to be tested
Weighing, diluting, and recording of tests on all samples
Scheduling of retention sample testing
Cleaning and maintaining lab equipment, including recalibration of equipment
Chemical and substrate preparation
Submitting to and liaising with external laboratories
Assisting with experimental/development work and all areas of quality improvement
Determining and performing tests needed for the analysis and report
Qualifications
The person will require the following skills:
Ability, and willingness, to learn and pick up tasks in a timely manner
Some Laboratory experience preferred
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
