Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Urban Designer.
This position will take a leading role in design-led projects at a strategic scale with a focus on growth in the city and provide expertise in urban design and regeneration. You will be a part of our collaborative and proactive City & Centres Regeneration team. The team both leads projects and provides specialist support to council teams and the community. Key focus areas for the team are place-based plans and urban development strategy, as well providing services such as design-led site analysis, capacity and feasibility studies. In your role as a senior, you will mentor junior designers and other team members, to build capability across the team and to foster a collaborative and creative work environment.

What you will bring to the role:

  • A postgraduate qualification (level 8 and above) in architecture, urban design, urban development or related disciplines. Previous experience working within the private sector is desirable.
  • Proficiency in design software - ideally you will have advanced skills in software such as Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, SketchUp, ArcGIS etc.
  • Strategic vision with proven ability to craft and implement initiatives with clarity and precision.
  • Excellent relationship builder with experience in stakeholder engagement - be a connector that aligns objectives, and someone who drives collaboration across the team and organisation.
  • Commitment to urban design and equitable city growth.
  • We are looking to appoint between $106,187 - $124,926 per annum, for this role, depending on relevant skills and experience.
