We are seeking a skilled and experienced structural steel rigger/ installer to join one of our dynamic clients in Hawkes Bay.
The successful candidate will be responsible for safe and efficient rigging, handling, and installation of structural steel components across construction projects. Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime if needed.
Responsibilities:
Rigging and lifting of steel beams, columns, and other structural elements using various rigging techniques (e.g., slings, chains, wire ropes)
Read and interpret GA drawings
Operating and maintaining rigging/ installation equipment such as hoists, winches, tools
Ensure the safe assembly and disassembly of rigging gear
Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures including site-specific safety plans, toolbox meetings and maintaining a clean work area
Requirements:
Competent riggers/ erector with minimum 3 years’ experience. Proven knowledge of rigging principles and practices.
EWP, Rigging, Dogman and Site Safe certifications required
Qualification in Manual Metal Arc Welding not required but highly desirable
Capability to read and interpret GA drawings
Strong commitment to health and safety practices
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as good hand-eye coordination
