About the role:
As a Cloud Engineer in Cloud Enablement, you'll be part of our team at the forefront of ASB's re-imagine stream on Azure. In the Engineering Practice at ASB, we encourage our teams to work autonomously in an agile way while actively growing their skills and expertise to improve customer outcomes continuously.
You'll bring significant public cloud systems engineering and support experience and solid IT infrastructure experience. You will have to be comfortable with designing, configuring and maintaining cloud platform technologies. Automating these processes in the future is also in the mix.
We advocate for T-Shaped teams which will take you through all facets of engineering on any given day. We are looking for a mix of technical skills to support the following activities: We are looking for a mix of technical skills to support the following activities:
- Design and Implement Cloud environments
- Creation and maintenance of Infrastructure as Code
- Work closely with Service Delivery Managers to keep customers informed of both proactive and responsive work undertaken.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the Cloud team's technical capabilities, standards, and practice.
About you:

With regards to background, the following capabilities are a must:
- Azure (expert)
- Demonstrated proficiency in technical, architectural, and design aspects
- Experience with private cloud frameworks
- Familiarity with both Linux and Windows environments
- Knowledge in application development
- Proficiency in cloud infrastructure, management, identity (Workload identity), networking (Azure CNI), Azure policy, AKS monitoring, release management, and workflow automation
- Extensive experience with GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Flow and Actions, self-hosted runners, secret management, and DevOps architecture
- Significant experience in constructing AKS infrastructure and deploying, managing containers using Azure Kubernetes (especially AKS) and related services through CI/CD with Bicep
- Expertise in security protocols
- Previous experience in automation processes and orchestration tools. Establishment of CI/CD processes for configuring all production systems
- Eager to learn emerging technologies and methods, and to mentor team members
