Are you a dynamic, results-driven professional looking for your next challenge in sales and business development? Our client is a leading provider of transport and logistics solutions, is seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to join our Tauranga branch.

About the role:

As the Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving our sales efforts, expanding their client base, and strengthening relationships with customers. Your primary focus will be on developing new import and export business across key trade lines, with opportunities to explore other areas within their network, including customs clearance, delivery, and additional services.

Day to day responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, building a robust pipeline of clients.
  • Manage and grow key accounts by developing strong, multi-level relationships.
  • Negotiate rates with shipping lines, agents, and co-loaders to deliver value for clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and present tailored proposals and pricing solutions to clients.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and KPIs to monitor performance and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in all operations.


About You:

The ideal candidate brings proven sales experience, with a track record of success in business development or sales, ideally within the transport, logistics, or related industries. They are highly customer-focused, demonstrating a commitment to understanding and exceeding client expectations. With excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, they excel as a strong communicator. Their strategic mindset enables them to analyse market trends and develop effective sales strategies. Organised and proactive, they manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-specific tools, while their collaborative attitude makes them a valuable team player dedicated to contributing to shared goals.
