Are you ready to start the new year in a new role? Join our dynamic Community Engagement team as an Event and Activations Support Coordinator! Help shape the future state of our community engagement strategy, ensuring we provide world-class customer experiences that support sustainable growth and meet community needs.

In this role, you'll support the delivery of a program of community engagement initiatives that enhance the strategic development of IAG’s brands in New Zealand (NZI, AMI, and State). You'll manage relationships with internal customers and stakeholders, providing expert guidance and support for community engagement activities. Your contributions will help integrate community focus into sales, service, marketing, and communications, providing direction and subject matter expertise.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Coaching, supporting, and motivating participants in executing community engagement programs.
  • Identifying and monitoring potential risks or opportunities in the business environment that may affect strategic objectives.
  • Coordinating and setting up events, including pre-event planning, on-site setup, and post-event reviews.
  • Handling administrative tasks such as creating traffic management plans, site safety requests, and coordinating with partners and stakeholders.
  • Managing the usage and administration of community event vans and BBQ trailers.
  • Ensuring flexibility in working hours, including weekends and evenings, to support event schedules.
  • Traveling to various event locations as required, ensuring all logistics are managed effectively.
  • The role includes travel around NZ, primarily in the North Island.


This is a permanent full-time position, available only at our IAG office based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland).

Ōu Pūkenga | About You
To be successful in this role you’ll ideally have the following skills:

  • Highly organised and able to prioritise multiple workstreams to meet deadlines.
  • Experience managing and reconciling large budgets.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Adaptive and hands-on working style.
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional environment and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • 4+ years of experience in cross-functional environments delivering high stakeholder engagement.
  • A valid driver's license is required, as the role involves driving and towing trailers.
