Our client is a Kiwi company, created by Kiwis, for Kiwis. They are a professional, socially responsible Debt Collection company, founded on principles of fairness, trust and respect.

The Role:
They are currently seeking a mature-minded, hard-working person to join their Collections & Tracing team based in central Christchurch.

In this role you will be undertaking a range of tracing and phone-based collection processes to collect higher value debts.

This is a busy phone-based role that would suit someone who has previous debt collections experience. You will be working on high value ledgers which need the attention of someone who is confident in collection strategies and is able to make critical decisions when required.

We also need someone who enjoys the nitty gritty…a bit of investigation work, using social media and various other tracing platforms to do trace those debtors who are ‘hard to find’.

The Role in more detail:

  • Perform phone-based collections of business-to-business debts and any associated personal guarantees.
  • Carrying out investigations and tracing of ‘hard to find’ debtors, using a range of tracing techniques and tools. ( e.g/ Accellion, Desk Detective, specialized databases, public records, social media, etc)
  • Ensure debt collection practices are compliant with legal regulations.
  • Arranging debtor repayment agreements
  • Adhering to revenue targets through use of company collection strategies.
  • Accurately prepare and file legal documents, arrangement of service, obtain Judgments and enforcement of Judegments.
  • Complete all associated administration and processes
  • Using knowledge and experience to make decisions around actions to be taken on disputed files.
  • Manage on-going debtor ledgers.
  • Relationship management with WINZ in line with the company’s strategic and operational strategies.
  • Maintain daily reporting processes


About You:

  • Previous phone-based Collections experience is desirable.
  • A strong outbound phone sales background could be considered.
  • Proactive habits. Results driven. Motivated and hard working.
  • Mature communication. Able to adjust style of communication to different audiences.
  • Resilient. Capable of handling challenging conversations and keeping on smiling.
  • Has speedy, accurate administration / processing skills
  • Is tenacious to fulfilling investigative and tracing work
  • Will work hard to achieve targets, to earn bonuses.
  • Social at the right times. Focused at the right times.

The hours: Mon- Fri. You will work an 8-hour shift to suit, between 8am – 8pm. (And overtime for those who want to earn a bit more).
