The Role As a Traction & Systems Controller, you’ll be responsible for monitoring and controlling the Auckland and Wellington Electrified Traction Systems. This role is pivotal to the safe and efficient operation of our rail systems, supporting the national rail network on a 24/7 rotating roster.
Key responsibilities include:
Electrical control operations and planning.
System monitoring and fault diagnosis.
Coordination with traction field staff and other rail system teams.
Training and development in traction control room operations.
Due to the nature of this role, you will travel and stay in Wellington for periods of time for training.
About You To succeed in this role, you will bring:
Must have previous experience with 24/7 shift work and able to work public holidays.
Flexibility to travel to Wellington for training.
Electrical system experience or relevant technical skills
Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
NCEA Level 1 (or equivalent) in Maths & English
A full Class 1 driver’s license and, ideally, an electrical qualification
