Te wero – The Challenge
A vacancy has arisen in our Asset Management team and we are looking for someone who can deliver and manage an effective Asset Management service for Council’s District Facilities assets in a responsible and sustainable manner.

I ā koe - About You
It goes without saying that you’ll have a qualification or a minimum of 7 years experience working within the infrastructure environment. Previous demonstrable experience of design, construction, operation, and management in the asset classes of public toilets, parks and reserves, cemeteries, recreational maritime and civic and community buildings is key.

Your skills will include knowledge of asset lifecycles, experience with an Asset Management Information System, ensuring up to date operations and maintenance manuals for assets and experience in ensuring assets have been maintained in accordance with. You will have good problem identification and solving and excellent communication skills. However, more importantly, you will have the ability to form good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the best organisational outcomes.

It is important that you have financial understanding of accounting for infrastructure assets and experience with asset management computer systems. Knowledge in local government legislation, practices and standards is desired.

You’ll be driven by wanting to make a difference in the community and be able to contribute in a meaningful way to the team.

Some of your core accountabilities are;

Manage the District Facilities assets portfolio which includes, although not limited to;

  • Cemeteries
  • Halls and buildings
  • Parks and Reserves
  • Recreational Maritime (including airports)
  • Public toilets
  • Walkways / structures etc
  • Development and management of an asset condition assessment programme (Asset condition, performance and valuation assessment and identification of critical assets) and development of renewals programs.
  • Identification of asset conditions, ensuring upgrade or renewal works required are lodged in CAMMS as project concepts contributing to the development of Long Term Plans.
  • Ownership, update and implementation of a Living Asset Management Plan (LAMP) improvements program, and performance monitoring of LAMP outcomes.
  • Working with Community Boards in accordance with Board delegations.
  • To be proficient at report writing for reports presented to Council for approval or as information reports.
