Bring your expertise to the table, influence key policy outcomes, and drive long-term social and economic development. This team is at the forefront of change and with the opportunity to make a significant difference. Collaboration is central, where they look to deliver evidence based, impactful policy.

You need to be committed to policy and advising Ministers. You will also be a trusted communicator, able to brief Ministers, senior officials and Select Committee and facilitate interagency processes on complex system issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead policy projects from start to finish, defining problems and delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Advocate for Māori communities by understanding their unique challenges and contributing to cross-sector efforts.
  • Work closely with Ministers and senior officials to provide timely, high-quality advice.
  • Mentor and develop policy analysts, helping them grow in their roles.
  • Flexibly contribute across the wider policy programme.


What You’ll Bring:

  • In-depth knowledge of policy, with a strong interest in social policy.
  • Strong understanding of government systems and political processes.
  • Skilled in analytical frameworks and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach to policy challenges.
