The Role:
Due to continued business expansion, they are currently seeking a switched-on Legal Collections Coordinator to join their Tullamarine based collections team. The role blends legal administration with debt collection, where you will prepare and manage legal documentation, as well as engaging with customers to negotiate payment arrangements.

It could suit:
Someone with a collections background, looking to move into a more legal-focused position, or
Someone with legal experience (paralegal) keen to apply their knowledge in a fast-paced collections environment.

The Role in more detail:

  • Prepare, and file legal documents in all jurisdictions, including statements of claim, default judgments, enforcement orders and other relevant legal correspondence.
  • Proactively contact debtors by phone to negotiate payment arrangements
  • Monitor and control legal proceedings to maximise recovery efforts.
  • Liaise with external solicitors, court officers, and internal stakeholders to coordinate legal activities
  • Ensure all activity complies with all legal and regulatory requirements, industry codes of practice, and company policies throughout the debt recovery process.
  • Conduct investigations and skip tracing to locate debtors where required.
  • Stay updated on changes in debt recovery laws and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate case records, customer communications, and legal documentation
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of internal debt recovery processes

  • Confident communication skills – you’re not afraid to discuss unpaid debt with customers
  • Excellent negotiation skills, able to adjust style to different audiences.
  • Fast, accurate administration skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands.

Ideal to have!

  • Previous experience in debt collection and/or legal administration
  • Knowledge of legal administration processes
  • Familiarity with skip tracing techniques
  • Awareness of regulatory and compliance requirements in debt collection.
