Join Our Winter 2025 Internship Programme!

We are seeking penultimate-year University of Auckland students to join our Winter 2025 internship programme in the Communications division of our IT Department, Digital Services.

About the Role

As an intern, you will work on impactful projects that benefit our staff and communities while gaining valuable practical experience. This is an opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in real-world scenarios and develop essential soft skills such as communication, public speaking, and relationship building.

You will collaborate closely with the Communication and Events Manager and the Head of Performance & Modernisation, who oversee the support and promotion of IT services at the University. Our team is dedicated to a customer-first approach, ensuring services are well-supported, promptly delivered, and effectively communicated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance our staff intranet, the central hub for all university-related information, including department details, events, stories, and services.
  • Support the Communication and Events Manager in various initiatives.
  • Assist the Head of Performance & Modernisation in promoting IT services.

He kōrero mōu | About you

  • You’ll be in your penultimate (second to last) year in a bachelor’s degree (or higher) at the University of Auckland.
  • You must be available for the onsite internship from July 2025 until December 2025.
  • You will have built a basic foundation of comms-related skills, either through your studies, work experience, hobbies, volunteering, participating in competitions or personal projects.
  • You’ll be a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills that make you a customer service star.
  • You’ll have a hunger to learn, and to get involved in meaningful projects that will drive forward your personal development.
