Our client, Acrow Group, is seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to join their team in Auckland. Acrow Group is made up of Acrow, Acrow Events, Camelspace Scaffolding, Direct Scaffolding Supplies, Sky High Scaffolding and UP2IT Access Hire in New Zealand and Clyde Equipment in Fiji. They are the largest scaffolding, formwork, falsework and event infrastructure company in New Zealand, servicing industrial, commercial, civil and residential construction and maintenance sectors, and major sporting, live music and cultural events, with over 600 employees across the Group. They are well respected and established, and have ambitious goals to become a Preferred Supplier, Employer and Customer. The Technical Business Analyst role offers an exciting opportunity to create financial and operational business intelligence solutions that enhance visibility and enable data-informed business decisions across the Group. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between business requirements and technical solutions, focusing on technical analysis, design, and implementation of potential technology solutions.
What you'll do:
As a Technical Business Analyst at Acrow Group, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the visibility of financial and operational intelligence across the Group. The key role responsibilities include:
- Identify, define and document business requirements, processes and methodologies
- Translate business needs into technical specifications for IT providers
- Partner with business units and IT providers to identify, design and implement technical solutions
- Test, debug, troubleshoot to ensure optimal performance of proposed solutions
- Connect to various data sources, clean, shape and automate data, create compelling visualisations
- Design, develop, test and deploy Power BI reports and dashboards that meet business requirements
- Build and maintain data models ensuring data integrity and performance
- Manage identified projects through to solution including planning, budgeting, scheduling and risk management
- Integrate Power BI reports into other applications for enhanced business capabilities
- Provide training and support to users on new systems or processes

- Ability to translate complex technical concepts clearly for non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills for solving complex business problems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Technical proficiency with a strong understanding of IT systems and software development
- Expert-level Microsoft Excel skills with experience in SQL/Python/VBA/R
- Knowledge of Power BI, SQL, Jet Analytics or a transferable tool for creating interactive dashboards
- Experience with data warehouse design and management
- Experience in managing projects and leading cross-functional teams
- Sound commercial awareness to support technical strengths
