Ko tō tūranga – your role
The IT Service Transition Lead is a key part of One NZ’s Technology function and is central in developing and improving the IT service Transition Management processes across the entire portfolio.

Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do

  • Enable Service Transition – ensure Service Transition can happen safely and efficiently. Allow One NZ IT teams to manage the rate of Service Transition, business risk and appetite, while protecting the integrity and availability of IT services.
  • Minimise business downtime – work with IT and business stakeholders to embed Service Transition windows across all IT services, ensure Service Transitions are assessed and categorised correctly with the appropriate levels of business and IT approval.
  • Ensure our architecture, release, environments and assurance processes delivers to the stability and reliability requirements and goals.
  • Responsible for ensuring the new service has effective process KPI’s – highlighting process adherence or breach and working with the management team to continually improve overall performance.
  • Responsible for fostering a continuous improvement culture and drive operational excellence across our IT Operations landscape.
  • Work with vendor manager, third party providers to ensure the SLAs, OLAs and service agreements are in place to meet business and technology outcomes.


Na tōu rourou - what you’ll bring

  • Highly experienced IT Service Management / ITIL practitioner with 5+ years in managing significant change across technology landscape.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT Service Operations, Service Design, Service Transition or Project Delivery with large-scale distributed systems - you will be part of the IT Operations team and will be responsible for leading service transition, minimise business downtime, risk management and service transition KPIs across BAU operations, project delivery and transformation programme.
  • Liaise between business owners, project managers, design & development teams, operations teams, and partners/suppliers communicating between all key stakeholders to ensure the smooth and successful transition of new services, executed to high quality standards
  • Comprehensive understanding of Operational technology (OT) Operating model – ability to interact and influence its enhancement and improvement where required.
  • Comfortable working in Agile and waterfall methodologies.
  • Inclined toward adapting the new AI/Machine learning-based tools and technology for improved service delivery and to optimize the operational cost
  • Proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders – customers, vendors, partners and other internal teams.
  • Experience of working in outsourced service provision
