At BestStart Oraha, we’re a Reggio-inspired centre that believes in nurturing children’s natural curiosity through meaningful, play-based experiences. Our purpose-built environment is designed to support child-led exploration and foster a deep love for learning.
As a Caregiver, you’ll play a key role in providing loving care and support for our youngest tamariki. You’ll help create a warm, stimulating, and safe environment where children can grow, thrive, and feel a strong sense of belonging. You’ll also build genuine relationships with our tamariki, whānau, and team – all while having fun and making a meaningful impact.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Providing loving care including feeding, changing, and supporting daily routines
- Encouraging exploration through a Reggio-inspired, play-based approach
- Observing and documenting children's learning and milestones
- Supporting centre operations, covering across classrooms and helping during staff breaks
- Working closely with a supportive and passionate team
- Creating strong, positive relationships with whānau
About You:
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Warm, caring, and naturally great with children – especially infants and toddlers
- Energetic, reflective, and open to learning
- A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
- Confident taking initiative and following direction
- Experienced in working with children under five (an ECE qualification is not required)

This is a permanent, full-time role (40 hours per week, Monday–Friday).
